Holiday Cheese Ball

This is the cheese ball that shows up at every family gathering - it's simple, feeds a crowd, and disappears fast. The pecans give it a nice crunch against all that creamy cheese.

Ingredients

Ingredients (~8 servings)

  • 2 packages cream cheese, 8 oz, softened but still slightly firm
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 6 oz shredded medium cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped small

Instructions

  • Combine cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Mix with electric mixer until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add shredded cheddar and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Chill mixture for 1 hour.
  • Use lightly greased hands to shape into a ball.
  • Roll ball in chopped pecans, pressing gently to coat.
  • Serve with crackers.

Refrigerate up to 1 week.
