Crock Pot Beef Tips and Gravy

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds top sirloin steak, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt, divided
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  • Sear cubed beef in batches using cast iron skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer seared beef to slow cooker.
  • Pour beef broth and soy sauce over beef. Add Italian seasoning, rosemary, diced onion, garlic powder, and bay leaf.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 4 hours until beef is tender.
  • Combine 2 tbsp cornstarch with 3 tbsp water, stir into slow cooker.
  • Cook an additional 5-10 mins until gravy thickens. Remove bay leaf before serving.
