Cream Cheese Onion Dip

This is the kind of dip that disappears at parties - caramelized onions mixed with cream cheese and sour cream. Takes about an hour but most of that is just waiting for the onions to do their thing.

Ingredients

Ingredients (~8 servings)

  • 2 yellow onions, 1/8" thick, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Potato chips for serving

Instructions

  • Slice onions thinly and caramelize in olive oil over medium-low heat for 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove onions from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and salt until smooth.
  • Chop caramelized onions into bite-sized pieces.
  • Stir chopped onions and parsley into cream cheese mixture.
  • Serve with potato chips.

Notes

Dip keeps in refrigerator for 3-4 days and tastes better the next day.
