Jimmy Dean Sausage Dip

This is the dip that disappears at every party – creamy, spicy, and perfect with tortilla chips. I always make a batch when I need something that feeds a crowd without much effort.

Ingredients (~6-8 servings)

  • 1 lb hot pork sausage (Jimmy Dean works great)
  • 1 lb regular pork sausage (Jimmy Dean works great)
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp canned diced jalapeños with juice
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried chopped onion (optional)

Brown the Sausage

In a large pan over medium heat, brown both sausages together.

Crumble them into small pieces as you go – you want bite-sized chunks, not big chunks.

Once the sausage is fully cooked and browned all the way through, drain any excess grease.

Add the Creamy Base

Add the cream cheese, sour cream, diced jalapeños with their juice, dried chopped onion (if using), and onion powder to the pan.

Turn the heat down to medium-low and stir everything together.

The cream cheese will clump at first but keep stirring – it’ll melt and incorporate into a smooth, creamy base in ~3-4 minutes.

Serve Hot

Once everything is melted and well combined, serve immediately while warm with tortilla chips.

The dip stays good in the fridge for 3-4 days and reheats perfectly in the microwave.
