Ingredients (~36 cookies)
- 1 1/2 boxes brownie mix
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 tablespoons water
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat Oven and Prep Your Baking Sheets
Get your oven to 350F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
You’ll need the extra space since this makes more cookies than the original.
Mix the Cookie Dough
Using a stand mixer or handheld beaters, beat the brownie mix, flour, eggs, melted butter, and water together until you get a smooth but sticky dough.
The dough will look pretty thick compared to regular cookie dough – that’s what you want.
Fold in the Chocolate Chips
Use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips.
Don’t overmix here; just get them distributed throughout the dough.
Scoop and Bake the Cookies
Using a cookie scoop, drop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheets.
Leave ~2 inches between each cookie since they’ll spread a bit.
Bake for 9-11 minutes only – they’ll look underdone but the outside should be cracked and hardened, not glossy.
If they still look glossy, give them 1 more minute.
Cool Before Removing
Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.
They’ll be really soft when they first come out but will firm up as they cool.
